Our next vacation to Walt Disney World is in July for 10 days and 11 nights. We’re on the Platinum Plan and all recreation and tours are included in the package. I know there’s all kinds of recreation and stuff to do at Walt Disney World besides just going to the theme parks. There’s golf, mini golf, boat rentals, bike rentals, horseback riding, carriage/wagon rides, etc. What else do you like to do during your vacation? What’s been fun, what would you recommend or not recommend? Have you done any of the different tours at the theme parks? Any shops you love to go to while at the parks or resorts? Any restaurants or kiosks you always go to, maybe for a specific item?

I want any suggestions of things to do and things to try within Walt Disney World, not off property.

I’m only 19, so any place that requires you to be 21 is out of the question, I guess. And I don’t plan on leaving Disney property because I’m on the Platinum Plan and I’m only going to be there fro 11 days. It takes me minimum of two weeks to do everything I want, and I didn’t spend $15,000 on our Disney Package to spend more money outside of Disney.
Yep, love Downtown Disney. I already know I’m going to be there at least one whole day. We’re having lunch at Bongos Cuban Cafe and dinner at Fulton’s Crab House, most likely, and then we’re going to see Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba. We’re going to the Rainforest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom Park.

Anybody actually do any of the recreational activities?

I am taking the family there on vacation in April. We are Disney Vacation Club members and have stayed at a few of the resorts, but never at Saratoga Springs. Is there a food court? A restaurant? How accessible is it to the parks and other attractions.
I have been there 7 times in the last 14 years, including on my honeymoon. We have stayed at the All-Star movies twice, the Polynesian, Contemporary, and Caribbean Beach. I was just wondering how S.Springs compares to the others.

But most of the rides have a long waiting line, and if you want to skip this, you need to come ahead of time to see if you can grab couple of Fast Passes. This pass will allow you to reserve a place, and come back when the waiting time mentioned on the ticket is up. In case you have a senior person or someone bound to a wheelchair, make sure you have kept that in mind while booking the ride. All the rides are wheelchair friendly and if not, the attendants will help get that member seated on the ride. So, the next time you plan on taking an affordable Disney vacation, keep these in mind.

• Check out your local library to see which “unofficial” Disney vacation guides they may have, especially if you don’t have that much vacation time and want to get really familiar with the park before you go. Most guides have a “must do’s” section for each park to help you make the most of your trip.

• Disney makes it pretty simple to plan a vacation, especially when you use their all-in-one online trip planning guide. Although you may find better deals elsewhere, it’s still a good idea to sign up for their email alerts. They are, after all, the experts on all things Disney. Be sure to request a free trip planning DVD. It’s excellent and serves as a great “video memory book” for your kids once they get home from the vacation!

These are good places to start, especially to get an idea of how much money you’re going to need. With that in mind, let’s take a look at just a few of the things that you’ll need to budget for:

• Travel expenses – plane, train or automobile (gas for your own car or cost of a rental)

• Length of stay

• Accommodations – Resort and area hotels, condos, rental homes

• Food – more choices than I can list…

• Souvenirs

• Special events – character dining, golf, scuba diving (EPCOT), etc.

• Park tickets – several options to choose from depending on your length of stay, park hopping options, meal packages, water parks, etc.

The bottom line is start now! Some of the special events are booked months in advance and the sooner you start planning, the better!

Well i think i am going back soon, BUT i want to make this trip memory lasting and the best of all.
