The Ultimate Disney Vacation Guide

Whether you plan on going with your significant other or have children in tow, wonder awaits as you make your way to sunny Orlando, Florida, USA, for a Disney World vacation. There is surely something that will appeal to children and adults of all ages at one of the four Disney World theme parks. Here is a brief overview of each one.
No trip to Disney World would be complete without a visit to the Magic Kingdom. You could easily spend more than a day visiting its five different lands: Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Liberty Square. You will be in awe of the network of underground tunnels that connect all of the sections of the Magic Kingdom. Here are some attractions that you will not want to miss no matter what age you may be: Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise. Space Mountain is still a great attraction. Don’t forget the parades and fireworks that are sure to take your breath away!
Epcot Center came on the Disney World scene in 1982. In times past, it was considered to be an adult park, but even now the kids that walk through this theme park can have a blast. One of the things that cater to the youngsters are the kidcot stations that you can find at every venue. Children are able to create free souvenirs to take home with them. You can also find Disney characters throughout Epcot Center. This theme park consists of two main areas, World Showcase and Future World. Spaceship Earth traces the history of communication.
You will surely want to go on Soarin, the most popular ride in Epcot. If you enjoyed The Lion King, you are certain to enjoy the Circle of Life film that is hosted by Simba, Timon and Pumba. You can actually take a boat ride which will give you a tour of fish production and greenhouses. To round out your stay at Epcot Center, be sure to visit the 5.7 million gallon aquarium which houses sea turtles, sharks, dolphins and all sorts of other fish. If you want to squeeze in one last attraction, you will want to see IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.
The third theme park to visit in Disney World is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It officially opened on May 1, 1989, just beating out Universal Studios which opened the very next year. At the time that this theme park opened, the only attractions were The Backlot Tour, Great Movie Ride, Sounds Dangerous and the Magic of Disney Animation. Later that year Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular was added as an attraction. The very next year Sorcery in the Sky, an evening fireworks show made its debut. In 1994, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror made its mark on this theme park.
Be sure to go on the Rock n Roll Coaster, another attraction that was added in 1999. If you like live performances, you will not want to miss the stage show Beauty and the Beast. The one downer to this theme park is that many of the attractions and shows are a bit long and will make some of the kids squirm in their seats adults included.
The newest theme park to hit Disney World was Disney’s Animal Kingdom which opened on April 22, 1998. This park consists of 500 acres and is home to approximately 1,700 animals that represent about 250 different species. You will not want to miss riding on the Kilimanjaro Safari which will take you through the African Savannah. However, you will probably be traveling too fast to be able to get any really good pictures of the animals. There you have it a bird’s eye view of Disney World. With a little forethought and planning, this could possibly be your best Disney vacation ever.

How to Plan a Great Walt Disney Vacation
Monday, February 23rd, 2009Miriam Boh asked:
A Walt Disney vacation can be absolutely wonderful, but hard on your wallet if you do not do some research and planning early. In this article, I would like to share a little insight on how you can save hundreds of dollars on your next trip and at the same time have a great Walt Disney World vacation.
First, book your trip in advance. You will no doubt have to pay more if all holiday preparations are made at the last minute. If you are planning to go during peak season such as between Christmas and New Year, booking one year in advance is never a problem. Otherwise, six to nine months will not deprive you of getting the best rooms that you desire at the best rates. If you are flexible on your vacation dates, you choose to go at a time when Disney offers Value Rates. These are the least expensive. Food can be very costly at Disney theme park. Do not overspend on meals. If you like table-service meals, try lunch since the menus tend to be less expensive than dinner. Whenever possible, eat outside the park for dinner.
Staying at Disney World Resort can help to save you some time while on vacation and let you and your family enjoy more of the park. This is because you do not have to spend so much time traveling back and forth to your hotel which results in shortened park enjoyment time as most families with younger children especially have trouble getting everyone rounded up early in the morning. As a Disney resort guest, you can take advantage of the extra time to visit the attractions that are way too crowded during normal park hours. Planning your day inside the park is a strategic effort. The easiest way to plan your Walt Disney vacation is to select the appropriate days you plan to visit parks and shows. Study the theme park map before you get to it. Nothing wastes time like wandering around not sure where you are or where you want to go next. Of course, you do not want the whole family to rush around during the whole day just to get to all the rides either. Thus, plan with some buffer time in-between so movement from one attraction to another is not a stressful experience.
Staying at Disney resorts not only helps to save you money and time, but your sanity as well. As a resort guest, you do not have to worry about the transportation which brings you to and back from parks. You need not feel stress that you have missed the shuttle and have to wait a half hour for the next. You will feel more relaxed and have more freedom to choose the time you want to leave. Pick appropriate days to visit the attractions in the parks. It will be a bonus if you have extra time.
With some advanced planning and predetermined Disney park visitation strategies, you and your family can experience a great Walt Disney vacation with excellent deals, less stress and fatigue.

Saturday, February 21st, 2009Affordable Disney Vacation - A Vacation For The Whole Family
Sunday, February 15th, 2009Ian Wilkie asked:
If there is one thing that would complete our lives, it would have to be a trip to the Walt Disney World them park with family or friends. Just the though of the trip is enough to get us all worked up and excited, but the stress that comes with the planning and sorting through details. But once we sit down to make a plan, as to how many days and who are the members traveling and what are the various activities available, stress flies out the window and in comes fun.
It could become a trip of your lifetime if you put in a bit of effort and time into planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. The best way to get a good deal is to check out various websites, and newsgroups that offer a wide range of information and when you can avail highest discounts.
These inputs are valuable if you are a large group and there are more children than adults. Children would want to check out all the rides, theme parks and all that is in offer at your Walt Disney World vacation. So, to be able to afford them and enjoy yourselves, you need to be sensible while planning.
There are Disney DVD’s available which will give you a virtual tour of the place, what are the sights to not miss and where you can get discounts or offers on tickets. Take a sneak peek into the roller coaster rides, or the waterfalls and the tours available and the perfect time to visit the Disney world in Florida and California. It will also give you tips and planning advice on where to stay and what are the options available within the campus and off the Disney World. Apart from this, there are websites that offer their services in planning your holiday and all this based on your budget.
Traveling from October to April would save you hundreds of dollars as this is off season, even hotel rates would be lower. You can either book yourself into the Disney Vacation Club or a private villa that you can rent from the owners at a reasonable price. They might even throw in a few discounted passes to the Adventure Land or maybe a visit to the Mickey’s Toontown Fair. What better gift can you give your children than take them around the place where all their favorite characters come alive.
Or if your child is fond of Robinson family, take them to the Swiss Family Robinson’s Tree house where they can climb up tree houses, explore the island of south sea and see what it is like to live in a tree. Better yet, take a ride on the Aladdin’s Magic Carpet with your family that you can steer to go in the direction of your desire.
By the time you are half way through your day, all you would be thinking about is, what’s next? and become as excited as your child in exploring this endless wonder land.

Thursday, February 12th, 2009How do I know if a Travel Agent is really an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner?
Friday, February 6th, 2009Joy F asked:
We’re planning a Disney World Vacation this Thanksgiving. I’ve requested quotes from MouseFan Travel and Small World Vacations. I’ve been able to find more information about Small World, which makes me think they’re legit, but the agent won’t call me and keeps sending emails with courtesy holds for things I don’t want. On the other hand, the agent from MouseFan has been very helpful; I spoke to her on the phone and she seems to respond quickly to emails. However, I can’t find much about MouseFan (also known as MEI Travel) on the net. Anyone have experience with either company or know how to check Disney Authorized Vacation planner references?
